• Part-time/full time position available, $80-$90K per year + super

OR

• Casual/contract position (up to 20 hours), $60-70 per hour (based on experience).

• We are open to discussing a suitable working arrangement for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities

• To conduct initial screening and regular health and fitness assessments

• To devise and implement individual and group exercise programs

• Assess clients and monitor their progress, adjusting programs as needed

• To motivate mental health consumers to live healthier lifestyles and assist with behaviour change

• Keep up to date client notes and progress reports as required

• Write reports and letters to the National Disability Insurance Association, approximately once a year for each NDIS client

• Lead educational workshops relating to exercise and mental health, and assist with the development of new workshops

• Participate in regular case conferences and progress meeting with the team

 

 

The Successful candidate will be:

• Able to demonstrate their competence as an exercise physiologist, for people with a mental illness.

• Self-driven, work autonomously, and able to self-evaluate performance.

• Able to work in a team environment amongst other health and fitness professionals.

• Diligent with keeping client notes and monitoring their progress.

• Organised and able to manage their own client appointments.

• Able to develop rapport with a diverse group of clients

• An outstanding communicator with the ability to relate to consumers with a mental illness.

• Capable of learning and using technology both for both administration and delivery of exercise programs and workshops.

 

Qualifications

• ESSA Accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist

• Mental Health First Aid

• Police Check

• Current First Aid and CPR

• Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (Casual position only)
