GP for Youth Clinic

We are seeking a part-time (2-3 day per week) VR GP to join the Junction Youth Health Service multidisciplinary team in Canberra for clinic and outreach delivery of primary care to vulnerable youth.

The Junction Youth Health Service has provided primary healthcare services to young people ( aged 12 to 25 yrs and their dependents) in Canberra for over 20 years. We have a focus on young people who have unstable housing and/or are otherwise at risk. 

You would be joining a team of 3 part time GPs and one part time Nurse Practitioner as well as an RN,  a part time psychotherapist and 4 youth workers supported by reception staff and a practice manager. The clinic has 4  well appointed consulting rooms and one nurse treatment rooms. There will be an outreach component to the role.

GPs are contracted on an hourly rate of pay with long appointments and allocated walk in appointment times and paid attendance at clinical and team management meetings.  While this work can be challenging, the role is well supported.  Interest in childhood trauma, mental health and sexual health (including antenatal care) is highly desirable.
