General Practitioner

The Junction youth health Service is a multidisciplinary team who provide holistic support and primary health care services to vulnerable young people aged 12 to 25 years, with a particular focus on young people who are homeless or otherwise at risk. The General Practitioner will provide competent client-centred care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness.

You would be joining a team of 3 part time GP’s and one part time nurse practitioner as well as a Registered Nurse, a part time psychotherapist and 4 youth workers supported by reception staff and a practice manager. The clinic has 4 well-appointed consulting rooms and one nurse treatment room. There may be an outreach component to the role.

GP’s are contracted on an hourly rate of pay plus superannuation, with long appointments and allocated walk in appointment times and paid attendance at clinical and team meetings. While this work can be challenging, the role is well supported. Interest in childhood trauma, mental health and sexual health (including antenatal care) is highly desirable.
