Talkativity is a multidisciplinary allied health clinic based in Melbourne’s outer south-eastern suburbs. We are community minded and have a strong focus on achieving functional outcomes that make a difference for our clients through strengths based, inclusive and neurodiversity affirming practices.

At Talkativity we are all about individuals. Just as we work with our clients to design their ideal therapy plan, we work with you to design your ideal role. No two team members are the same, so your professional pathways are as individual as you are.

We work mainly with children, but support people of all ages from diverse lifestyles. We focus on working with people to reach their goals in a supportive way. We apply a social model of disability to our work, and we focus on capacity building in the community, not just our clients.

We have a dynamic multidisciplinary team with a broad range of experiences, interests, skills and ideas. We have team members with a background in circus, music, dance, horse riding and swimming who have developed clinical programs around their areas of interest. We’re always open to new ideas.

We are passionate about inclusion and co-design. Our clinical management have extensive experience, each with 10+ years of providing therapy. Our management team, and many of our broader team are all parents with a lived experience of disability either directly, or through supporting close family members. We use our personal experiences alongside our professional knowledge to guide our decisions and regularly seek opinions from clients, and people with a disability when determining policy and procedure changes. We are working to develop a true co-design model where equal voices shape the direction of our services.

Lifelong learning is a pillar of our service. Each week we support team members to undertake professional development and offer employees an unlimited budget for our professional development. We use a wide range of resources, including internal and external (specialist) supervision, workshops and conferences, books, online courses and practical resources. We have supported interested team members to undertake further study at a tertiary level. All team members participate in quality improvement projects, and have planned internal supervision, regular review and career planning to ensure you are loving your job, and heading the direction you would like.

You will be supported to succeed in your role. With full administrative support, a team of allied health assistants, clear KPI’s, structured supervision and a supportive and responsive management team we will work with you to ensure you are comfortable and successful.

Work life balance is important, and we offer much more than 9-5, with full time, part time, and compressed/flexible hours available. Our clinic is open Monday-Saturday, and work from home days can be made available. Many of our team choose a 9 day fortnight (full time), giving an extra day off to catch up with all that life throws, chase a hobby, or relax. Your role can be full time or part time, including family friendly working arrangements that work for you around your caring responsibilities.

We remunerate fairly and generously. You will receive an above award wage commensurate with your experience and the working conditions you choose. We provide all resources and consumables to ensure you can do your job well, safely and comfortably including your own iPad and laptop. Our HR practices are supported by Employsure and an external payroll agency to ensure everything is always above board, on time and in order.

We embrace and value inclusion. We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, workers of all ages, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as neurodivergent individuals. If you have any support or access needs, we encourage you to advise us at time of application. We are committed to providing flexible ways of working for every role. Talk to us about how this job could be flexible for you.
