Hospital and location

Established in 1874 and 310 km's west of Melbourne, this is an acute referral hospital for the region treating more than 10,000 inpatients, 16,000 emergency patients and 123, 000 outpatients for a wide range of specialist services. The hospital has 86 acute and sub-acute beds and 98 aged care beds.

A lively city and a handy base to explore the region's nearby natural attractions.  With a beautiful national park, valley and picturesque towns with historic buildings, this is a fantastic location for rock climbing, hiking and camping.  You will also find art festivals, a wonderful art gallery, scenic bushland, mountains, lakes and waterways.
