Lovely OT (Part-Time Senior Occupational Therapist)

We're seeking a fabulous (part-time) OT to join us.
One of our lovely senior OTs is heading off on mat leave! We'll miss her dearly, but ...when one door closes, another opens... and we know this role will suit someone compassionate and experienced, who is looking for their next opportunity.
Come and work alongside our OTs and SPs in our collaborative, capable, and down-to-earth team. Opportunity to work in clinic, community or school settings or a mix of all three.

We have clinic sites in Melbourne's north and west and service school contracts across Melbourne metro area. Our work is varied and includes therapist led playgroups, fussy eating clinic, group programs, Indigenous childcare / community supports, teacher training, individual therapy programs and multidisciplinary care.

About You:
- Experienced paediatric occupational therapist, wanting a flexible, innovative and supportive workplace to focus on extending your career in a fun team.
- Ready for a new challenge, trying private work, leading a team, mentoring staff, or collaborating and designing programs, or working in a specialist program.
- Maybe you're a parent returning to the workforce or a current clinical specialist wanting to develop your professional learning within the scope of a large practice.
- You love getting on the floor with kids, families and colleagues, navigating your way through the messy bits to celebrate each family's success.
Location and hours:
- Well located clinics, close to public transport (and good coffee)
- Priority is placed on workplace flexibility and work-life balance
- 0.6 EFT role (days & hours negotiable) - potential flexibility for increased hours
- Role based in clinic, schools & community, with WFH time also available.

Key Duties:
- Early intervention caseload forms part of the role, including parent coaching, toileting, kindergarten support and resource development for parents and teachers.
- Conduct assessments to understand each child’s strengths and needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised therapy plans to support functional goals across settings.
- Work with children presenting with a range of needs including sensory processing challenges, self-care and regulation or attention needs.
- Provide direct therapy sessions in our clinics and local school environments.
- Collaborate closely with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a consistent, goal-focused approach.
- Offer practical strategies and environmental supports to promote participation in everyday activities, comfortable supporting parents, families and collegeagues with consultation and coaching rather than direct therapy.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation, including reports for families and funding bodies.
- Support capacity building through parent coaching, teacher consultation, and workshops as needed.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
Important Criteria:
- A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- An understanding of how to meet your own needs within your workplace
- Superb time management skills, attention to detail and excellent communication
- A warm, genuine manner, well developed interpersonal skills, and an ability to foster rapport with a diverse range of clients and staff
- Passion for providing an excellent, evidence based service for clients and their families
- You're smart, practical, kind and generally fabulous with a good sense of self outside of your work.
Your Experience:
- working with a diverse paediatric caseload (early intervention to early primary school)
- working in a school based setting and engaging with teaching staff.
- designing and developing assessment and therapy programs.
- comfortable and compassionate with an advisory / parent coaching approach alongside your therapy provision.
Nice to Have Criteria:
- a good understanding of what aspects of your work “fill your bucket”
- experience in mentoring or supporting staff
- hold a valid driver's licence and easy access to a vehicle / public transport
- experience in both tele-health and in person service delivery
