Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist (hand + upper limb/paediatrics)

About us:

Full Circle Hand Therapy (FCHT) is a well-established private hand and upper limb clinic, with locations in Stepney and Glenelg.

We are a team of dedicated Allied Health Professionals that are researchers, educators, presenters, mentors, and contributors to the profession with over a decade of combined experience in specialised assessment and treatment of hand, wrist, elbow and arm conditions. We offer a diverse caseload from pediatrics, elite sportspeople and multi-trauma to conservative management of tendinopathies and degenerative disease.  We provide rehabilitation and therapy to a variety of patients, clients & participants from multiple referral pathways. We provide a range of services including post-operative rehabilitation, and assessment and management of acute and chronic injuries, and disabilities pertaining to the upper limb. We have a close working relationship with local Orthopaedic, Plastic & Paediatric Specialists.

About the role: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated hand and upper limb therapist (OT or Physio) on a part-time basis, with potential to increase to a full-time basis (hours negotiable, minimum 0.4 FTE). Experience in hand/upper limb is preferable however, our extensive training package can be offered to the right candidate.

Desired skills and duties, but are not limited to include:

• Strong ability to apply clinical reasoning to a treatment or therapeutic program within the paediatric, upper limb and disability space
• Knowledge of treatment and assessment of a variety of upper limb conditions and disabilities.
• Easy going, team-oriented nature with good communication skills
• Experience with thermoplastics and splint fabrication
• Manufacture of static and dynamic splints and casts and complete wound care
• Liaison with key stakeholders and surgeons regarding the rehabilitation process
• Preparation of written reports
• Case management of the Return-to-Work process and ability to work within LSA, DVA & NDIS frame-works
• Case conferencing and problem-solving of complex care needs
• Flexible working conditions from Monday – Friday across our two locations at Stepney and Glenelg

About you: The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to the needs of the practice, patients, cases and therapy records of the business in an efficient and professional manner and participating in training and assessments where required. Flexibility to work across the two locations, when required.

• A Degree in Occupational Therapy
• AHPRA registration
• Accredited or Associate member with AHTA (desirable)
• A passion hand therapy, enabling function and working closely with people to achieve their goals
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated capacity for executing tasks with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to work both within a large team environment and autonomously
