About Hunter Holistix

Hunter Holistix is a growing multidisciplinary practice based in Newcastle, NSW, offering psychology, occupational therapy, counselling, and holistic wellbeing supports to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, nervous system-informed care, and genuine human connection. We work with a broad range of presentations, including neurodivergence, emotional regulation, executive functioning challenges, trauma, anxiety, and psychosocial disability. We are passionate about providing meaningful, person-centred support that creates lasting change.

We are currently seeking an experienced and confident Occupational Therapist to join our team. Hours and caseload structure will be tailored depending on the right candidate.

About the Role

This role would suit an Occupational Therapist who values autonomy, clinical confidence, authentic connection with clients, and being part of a supportive and collaborative team culture.

You will work alongside psychologists, allied health assistants, and other clinicians to provide holistic and strengths-based support across clinic, community, school, and telehealth settings.

  • Managing a caseload independently and confidently
  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions
  • Contributing positively to team culture and collaboration
  • Supporting clients to improve independence, emotional wellbeing, and participation in daily life
  • Demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and strong clinical reasoning

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments and intervention planning
  • Provide therapy supports across emotional regulation, executive functioning, sensory processing, daily living skills, and social participation
  • Deliver services in clinic, school, home, community, and telehealth environments
  • Complete clinical documentation, progress notes, reports, and NDIS-related documentation
  • Collaborate with families, support coordinators, schools, and multidisciplinary clinicians
  • Develop and implement person-centred therapy goals
  • Maintain ethical, professional, and evidence-based practice standards
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and growth-focused team environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 1+ years Occupational Therapy experience preferred
  • Experience working with NDIS participants highly regarded
  • Strong clinical reasoning and confidence working independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or application completed on successful hiring)
  • Experience working within neuroaffirming and strengths-based frameworks highly valued
