NAPHL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Townsville team, on a full-time basis.

The Opportunity

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Townsville team. Your role will be responsible for the provision of high-quality occupational therapy assessment and interventions for consumers who have an NDIS plan.

The position provides occupational therapy interventions for consumers presenting with multiple complex problems including serious mental illness, co-morbid high prevalence disorders, associated social relationship issues, everyday living skill needs and dual diagnosis, supporting other clinicians in the delivery of high-quality mental health care.

The key responsibility for the role will be to:

  • Provide high quality occupational therapy assessments and intervention to NDIS participants.
  • Actively participate in OT discipline meetings, professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to the resolution of complex situations that may involve negotiation with multiple service providers.
  • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and ability to complete work with minimal direction.
  • Evaluating patients' functional status in their home, work/school and leisure environments
  • Establish treatment goals
  • Implement the plan of care through direct treatment
  • Coordinate treatment with other healthcare professionals as required
  • Record, maintain and provide accurate, timely documentation of patient treatment and progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients in adherence to legislative requirements and guidelines.

We are looking for Clinicians who have:

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist;
  • Experience working in NDIS;
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration (with no restrictions);
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse range of clients;
  • The ability to work independently, but also as part of a transdisciplinary team;
  • Current Drivers Licence
