You're probably looking through LOTS of job ads, so here's the short version:

  • We're looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team
  • Employment Term: Ongoing – Full Time, Part-Time or Casual
  • Location: Melbourne
  • More relaxed days focussed on teaching (see max 3-4 clients per day)
  • Get in at the ground floor at a fast-growing healthcare startup that cares deeply about acting with integrity and empowering our users (see our Google reviews).
  • Salary: $90K - 130K (incl. super) commensurate with experience
  • See your own clients, teach and provide support to our AHAs and junior OTs
  • Multidisciplinary team (Speech, OT, Physio, etc.)
  • Combination of remote and office work

A LITTLE ABOUT US:

Our company is focussed on 2 things:

  • Creating a sustainable work culture (making sure we don't lose clinicians to burnout)
  • Creating a great teaching and learning environment

By teaming up with our allied health assistants (university students studying Speech therapy, OT and Physio), our OTs are able to have more relaxed days (seeing 3-4 clients per day max), without worrying that their clients aren't getting enough therapy hours.

Ally Assist currently has a team of 4 allied health professionals and a workforce of 300+ allied health assistants (and growing fast). Our vision is to make it simple and human for people living with disability to find the best allied health team.

ABOUT OUR PLATFORM:

As well as building our team, we’re building technology that does two things:

  • empowers people living with a disability and their families to empower themselves, and
  • makes it easy for our team to do their best work

We have developed an online system that helps you easily find and manage your clients, as well as stay up to date with sessions your allied health assistants have been doing. With your help, our aim is to continue building and refining this to add progress tracking, reporting, games and anything else we come up with!

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE UP TO:

You’ll be working directly with our founders to design the future of work for community OTs.

You’ll be splitting up your time between the following:

  • managing your own clients
  • supporting our allied health assistants and junior OTs
  • growing yourself professionally
  • developing online OT resources, and
  • building a workplace culture we can be proud of.

Our ultimate goal is to create a workplace that supports our OTs, and empowers them to empower our clients and their families.

We're looking for reliable, self-aware people who are keen to collaborate and grow themselves professionally and personally. The ability to champion our values matters to us; we care about our team culture and you'll be joining a group of compassionate individuals who want each other to be happy and successful.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

We know that people with all of these skills do not exist! But hopefully you can help us with some of these. As long as you’re excited to build the best possible therapy experience for all our users, we’ll work together to develop your skills. In an ideal world you’ll have:

  • Completed a degree recognised by AHPRA
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an OT (you’ll need to feel comfortable formulating plans and supporting juniors)
  • A strong understanding of your therapy domain, and be able to deliver therapy within a person’s natural environment and routine.
  • Knowledge around how to prepare accurate and timely NDIS reports.
  • The ability to work from home and our office
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English
  • The legal right to work in Australia

IN THE FIRST 30 DAYS WORKING WITH US, YOU’LL MOST LIKELY:

  • Meet with a person living with a disability and understand which existing supports you can use and what you can add to empower them to reach their goals
  • Be able to identify the facilitators and barriers within a person's environment (attitudinal, social and physical) that will impact their goals
  • Touch base with senior OT mentors
  • Prepare accurate and timely NDIS reports
  • Support a team of allied health assistants for each of your clients, including team meetings, phone or video check-ins, note reviews and guidance
  • Work with our tech team to begin developing the technology to make your work easy and enjoyable

HERE ARE SOME REASONS WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE TO JOIN US:

  • You’ll be helping to build a company that truly addresses some of the large systemic issues in disability care in Australia.
  • You’ll be co-creating your own work culture with us and dictating what our future therapists' day-to-day will look like
  • Faced-paced startup with meaningful work and a team that cares about your success
  • You’ll help us build a workplace culture you’ll love working in.
  • We’re all about ‘filling your cup’ outside of work -- and take a unique approach to personal development and learning opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work remotely and at our office.
  • Other benefits (PD, laptops, phones, etc.) will be worked out with you

Our interview process has 3 steps:

  • Initial phone screening.
  • Formal interview with our team
  • Reference checks.
  • LEA123
