About the job

Are you a physiotherapist looking to get out of the clinic more or get back into the workforce?

Tired of your usual work?

Would love access to regular structured mentoring and professional development?

Want a work role that suits your lifestyle/family needs?

We might be the place for you!

Here at Kids Physio Newcastle, we attract physiotherapists who love to work with children and their families. We currently have 6 therapists who enjoy their work, and are passionate about the outcomes they are achieving with their clients. If you are the type of person who is motivated by seeing children progress and be the best they can be, we want to hear from you. We are looking to find our next team mate to work alongside.

Our practice works all year round, however you can choose to just work across the four school terms, meaning that you don’t have to work in school holidays. Instead, you can spend that time catching up on those things at home you want to do, or if you have your own kids, hanging out with them.

We provide flexibility around working days, so you can choose to be

  • Part time (choose your days)
  • Full time working only school terms- fully maintained company care provided
  • Full time (52 weeks with annual leave of course)- fully maintained company car provided

Don’t have paediatric experience?

That is ok. We have a wealth of knowledge in our team and we find that there are other areas of physiotherapy that develop relevant skills, such as neuro. At Kids Physio Newcastle we can provide learning and training opportunities for the right person.

What kinds of things are we needing you to do?

  • Complete initial assessments both in the community and the clinic
  • Establish goals for your clients that suit the family needs
  • Develop treatment plans that will result in great outcomes and put the plans into action through physiotherapy programs.
  • Keep up with note writing and reports as needed, and be an all-round reliable and genuine person
  • Be you and bring your personality to the kids we work with

What would we be looking for in applicants?

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Driver’s license and own car with comprehensive insurance (but you won’t be out of pocket for travel costs for work!). If full time a fully maintained company car will be provided.
  • A current working with children check
  • An ability to communicate well with us in our team, with families and with children.
  • Be ok with working out and about in the community with children, but also in the clinic.

Not sure if the grass will be greener?

We get it. Moving job roles takes a bit of bravery. At Kids Physio Newcastle we are small enough to be a caring, supportive team and big enough to have the skills and knowledge to share with each other. We welcome you to have a chat with us if you have specific questions.

New graduates, those returning to work and experienced professionals are encouraged to apply. Positions are available for immediate start or for start in 2023.

How to apply:

There are two steps:

  • Update your resume and write a cover letter outlining why you might like to work with us
  • Send your resume and cover letter to Marney Leeson.
