  • 48 hours per fortnight

About the role

We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician who is passionate about supporting women and families experiencing perinatal emotional health difficulties in the GV Health region.  The role provides mental health assessment, treatment planning and brief evidence based intervention.  The PEHP clinician is also responsible for supporting services working with women and families in the perinatal period, providing secondary consultation, opportunities for upskilling, and refinement of referral pathways. 


About you

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications and current registration in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Clinical or Forensic Psychology
  • At least 5 years experience working in the provision of mental health services
  • The ability to work with consumers and service partners in an outreach capacity
  • Excellent time management skills

Selection Criteria Essential: Registered Nurse must: have Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Registration/Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with endorsed postgraduate studies in mental health; or 
Essential: Social Workers must: possesses an approved degree in Social Work or other qualification approved for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or 
Essential: Occupational Therapists must: possesses an approved qualification in Occupational Therapy and registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or 
Essential: Psychologists must: be registered and endorsed in clinical psychology or forensic psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia in accordance with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 
Essential: At least five years post registration experience in the provision of evidence based mental health care 
Essential: Experience in the developing and maintain stakeholder relationship
Essential: High level of understanding and experience in working with women and babies in the perinatal period 
Essential: Experience in the provision of secondary consultatio
Desirable: Understanding of infant mental health
Essential: Satisfactory National History Criminal Check, Victorian ‘Employee’ Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration prior to commencement of employment
