About the Hear for Kids TEAM

Hear for Kids provides speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and teacher of the deaf services to deaf and hard of hearing infants, children and adults and their families across a number of programs, including NDIS. Services are provided both during the day and after school, both onsite at our clinics and in community locations.

The Role

Hear for Kids is seeking an experienced paediatric Physiotherapist to join our transdisciplinary team. This exciting opportunity would ideally suit an experienced professional wanting to work with infants and children within early childhood development programs (ECDP), home and community settings so you must be a strong communicator and have the ability to handle a busy caseload. Experience in Auslan is highly regarded.

The role is flexible and family-friendly: either full-time, part-time or casual for 15.2 hours per week.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of three years’ experience
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Physiotherapy, which encompasses registration with the National Physiotherapy Board of Australia This is applicable for those providing Better Start services as well
  • Current Queensland Blue Card holder
  • Knowledge and skills in clinical best practice, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and principles of Family Centred Practice (FCP)
  • Knowledge of typical and atypical childhood development and how this impacts on young children with a disability or development delay; knowledge of how environmental factors influence interventions on a child with a disability or developmental delay
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team


  • Evidence of ongoing education/professional development relevant to deafness
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a case load, meeting timelines in a responsive manner by adjusting priorities according to changing needs and urgent matters
  • Experience in Auslan highly regarded
