About the job

Qualifications & experience

✨Undergraduate degree in health sciences, teaching, nursing, counselling or a similar degree aligned with the provision of health and developmental services to children

✨Post Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy as a minimum requirement. Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Play Therapy is highly regarded

✨Empathic and with an open and friendly manner
✨Resilience and insight for working with children in emotional distress
✨Excellent spoken and written communications skills
✨A broad knowledge of child development
✨Competent in Information Technology including digital record keeping and clinical scheduling systems
✨A current member of a Play Therapy Association (APPTA, APTA, PTPA etc)

Tasks & responsibilities

🔆Conduct Play Therapy to a high, professional standard
🔆Support families to respond to their child's emotional needs
🔆Liaise with other health professionals and organisations as appropriate
🔆Keep records carefully and to a professional standard
🔆Promote Play Therapy to the broader community
