Practice Nurse

Flourish Medical Gropu is an established General Practice located in Traralgon. We are expanding our team again and are searching for a Practice Nurse to join us on a Full-Time basis.

This position is suitable for a REGISTERED NURSE, the role involves: 

• Liaise with the GPs onsite to coordinate better health outcomes. Our practice has an emphasis on preventative medicine.

• Triage and patient assessment

• Chronic Disease Management and Health Promotions (Knowledge of diabetes management, asthma management, enhanced primary care items and preventative Health Checks)

• Infection control and cold chain procedure

• Clinical Data Management

• IT skills: ability to effectively manage patient bookings, recalls, reminders and clinical records within practice software (Best Practice)

• Immunisation schedules

• Wound Management

• Assisting doctors with minor surgical procedures

• Maintain regular stock levels according to practice procedures

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment 

The role will also involve the use of HotDoc and other Practice Management based systems to ensure operational and financial management along with enhanced patient care and health promotion. 

  The successful applicant will have:

• Current Nurse Registration with AHPRA

• Membership of relevant professional organisation 

• Current Professional Indemnity Insurance

• Current National Police Certificate Check

• Up to date vaccination relevant to profession

• Confidence to work under the direction of the doctors autonomously with a patient group.

• Experience and knowledge with word, excel and general computer systems. 

• Evidence of current immunisations as per requirements for health care workers.

• Excellent time management and delegation skills

• Excellent interpersonal, written & oral communication skills 

• Practice Accreditation Skills

• Experience with working with PHN

• High organisational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise own workload.

• Knowledge of Best Practice software (preferred). 

• Keen interest in learning new skills
