Fixed Term Part Time (0.4 - 30.6 hours per fortnight)

End date 12 months


The Psychosocial Oncology Program at Peter Mac is a multi-disciplinary team of clinical psychologists, social workers and psychiatric consultation-liaison nurses and psychiatrists/psychiatric registrars. Members of the team access patients who are at risk of mental health problems, and assess and treat those with pre-existing and/or current mental health problems in the context of their cancer journey. Our team works with people with cancer and their families across all types and stages of cancer.


An exciting and challenging position is available immediately within our team for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Grade 2 Psychologist to manage a new project called 'fear-less A stepped-care approach to treating 'fear of cancer recurrence in people with cancer 

The main purpose of this position is to oversee the implementation and evaluation of a stepped-care evidence based intervention for FCR.


Suitable applicants must have;


Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia

  • An APAC approved post-graduate qualification to Masters level in Clinical Psychology;
  • Clinical experience in the delivery of psychological services to people and their families in health care/ mental health settings;
  • Endorsement or proof of working towards endorsement in 'clinical psychology' area of practice;
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Data management skills;
  • Understanding of research methodology;
  • Project management experience.
