ABOUT US

Mind Mode Psychology & Wellbeing is a values-driven private practice offering clinicians flexibility, strong organisational support, and the freedom to practise ethically within neuro-affirming, gender-affirming and trauma-informed frameworks.

We support a broad and diverse client base across the lifespan and are particularly committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based relationship therapy for couples navigating communication difficulties, conflict, parenting stress, betrayal trauma, separation concerns, neurodivergent relationships, and life transitions.

Our clinicians are supported by strong referral pathways and a full-time administrative team who manage intake, bookings, billing and referrals—allowing clinicians to focus on meaningful clinical work and sustainable practice.

Mind Mode operates across two established sites in Wollongong and Campbelltown, and we are currently recruiting across both locations.

We welcome clinicians at all career stages, including registrars, accredited mental health social workers, and early-career practitioners with a strong interest in couples work, as well as experienced clinicians seeking autonomy within a collaborative and reflective team environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a psychologist, clinical psychologist, or accredited mental health social worker with a strong interest in couples therapy and relationship work.

Applications are particularly encouraged from clinicians who are:

  • Gottman Method trained (Level 1, 2 or 3), or
  • Experienced in evidence-based couples therapy approaches, or
  • Passionate about developing a specialised couples therapy caseload with mentoring and support available.

This role offers the opportunity to build a dedicated couples and relationship therapy caseload within a supportive multidisciplinary practice.

Presentations may include:

  • Communication and conflict difficulties
  • Emotional disconnection and attachment concerns
  • Infidelity and betrayal trauma
  • Parenting and family stress
  • Neurodivergent relationships
  • Intimacy and relational challenges
  • Separation and reconciliation work
  • Relationship concerns alongside trauma, anxiety, burnout or life transitions

There is also flexibility to work with individual adult clients alongside couples work depending on clinician preference and scope of practice.

Roles can be structured as:

  • Employee positions, including registrar roles with structured supervision and support, or
  • Contractor / licensee arrangements for clinicians seeking greater autonomy with strong organisational backing.

Caseloads are developed collaboratively and aligned with clinician interests, competence and long-term professional goals.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Providing evidence-based couples therapy and mental health intervention
  • Supporting clients within neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and gender-affirming models of care
  • Conducting relationship assessments and treatment planning
  • Working collaboratively with individuals and couples navigating relational distress and life transitions
  • Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation and ethical compliance
  • Engaging in supervision, peer consultation and ongoing professional development

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • AHPRA-registered Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist, and/or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Registrars welcome (structured supervision provided where applicable)
  • Gottman Method training highly regarded
  • Experience or strong interest in couples and relationship therapy
  • Alignment with neuro-affirming and gender-affirming values
  • Commitment to ethical, reflective and client-centred practice
  • Ability to work independently while valuing team collaboration and connection

Experience in trauma, attachment-based work, family systems, emotionally focused approaches, or working with neurodivergent couples will be highly regarded.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Flexible role design (employee or contractor)
  • Strong referral pathways for couples and relationship presentations
  • Structured supervision and peer consultation
  • Registrar support including board-approved supervision
  • Full-time administrative support across both sites
  • Thoughtful caseload matching aligned to clinician interests
  • Professional development allowance and internal learning opportunities
  • A psychologically safe, reflective and values-led team culture
  • Flexibility to shape and grow your preferred area of practice
