Introduction

Assessments Australia (a MAX Solutions company) provides the Assessment Service for the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD-AS) for the Victorian Department of Education and Training in the categories of Intellectual Disability and Severe Language Disorder with Critical Educational Needs. Staff and contractor assessors conduct cognitive and language assessments in state government schools to ascertain eligibility to apply for support under the Program for Students with Disabilities (PSD).

The PSD-AS processes referrals for assessments from schools and allocates assessors to conduct assessments in schools.  High quality reports are written that meet the needs of various stakeholder groups, especially schools and families, of the students assessed.

The opportunity

We currently have 2 vacancies - 1x Permanent full time and 1x Temporary full time (until end October 2021), both require an asap start. Both roles are also available part time (minimum 3 days per week).

The primary function of the Staff Assessor - Psychology is to conduct cognitive assessments in schools and complete comprehensive reports according to PSD and Assessments Australia's requirements. This role provides the opportunity to develop expertise in the administration, interpretation and reporting of cognitive and adaptive behaviour assessments. Staff Assessors work largely autonomously, with the support of our administrative and professional teams, and provision of ongoing professional learning. In addition to local referrals, occasional travel to remote and regional areas within Victoria is required, with some overnight stays if required (accommodation costs and meal allowances are provided).

Staff Assessors have the flexibility to write reports from home, and are only expected to attend our Melbourne CBD office a minimum of once per month (once COVID related restrictions are lifted). You can be based almost anywhere in Victoria to be eligible to apply. Mobile phone and laptop included.
