About The Opportunity
South Western Sydney is recruiting for a Psychologist to complement and enhance the current Youth Health team.

 

Youth Health Services SWSLHD is a dynamic youth focused district team where the right candidate will have the opportunity to work autonomously but in the structure of a supportive team across a varied and interesting range of presenting health concerns. The preferred candidate will enjoy engaging with young people from diverse backgrounds and addressing varied presentations.

What you'll be doing

To deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with a wide range of behavioural and emotional disorders.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development 

and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists 
and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting the health and wellbeing of young people and the ability to advocate for at risk young people.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumerfocused care.
  • Demonstrated effective experience in intake, assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse young people and their families
  • Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).  
  • Degree in Psychology with current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
