Forensic Psychologist/Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist x 2

Two positions have become available to join an established psychology practice in Hurstville, NSW.  We are looking for two experienced Forensic Psychologist/Psychologist/ Clinical Psychologists to work 1-3 days per week on a contractual basis.


The successful applicant will need to be a Registered Psychologist and be a member (or be eligible to become a member) of the APS.  They must have experience in evidence-based practices and working with complex presentations.


We offer flexible hours, after hours work, supervision and are looking for someone who is able to work autonomously, has exceptional organisation skills, a warm approach, and who is professional and reliable.


The role

·       Providing individual assessments and evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents and adults who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours or are involved in the criminal justice system

·       Providing evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents or adults with various mental health presentations, disabilities or behavioural disturbances

·       Working closely with families or carers regarding behaviour management

·       Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team

·       Experience in a range of psychometric assessments including behavioural, psychosocial, risk, and forensic,

·       Development and implementation of behaviour support plans for various complex presentations

·       Willingness to travel to various Sydney locations to      undergo    assessments


Essential Criteria

·       Full Registration with AHPRA

·       Full/Associate member of the APS or willingness to apply

·       Registered ABN and professional indemnity insurance

·       Eligible to obtain Medicare provider number 

·       Experience in the delivery of evidence-based treatment, including CBT or DBT

·       Working with Children Check

·       National Police Check

·       Demonstrated experience and interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities, out-of-home care, harmful sexual behaviours, violent offenders, children, young people or adults

·       Previous experience with clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in either the intellectual disability, forensic, or out-of-home-care sector

·       Can communicate effectively with a range of organisations, individuals, families and services in a professional and timely manner

·       Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills 

·      Advanced oral and written communication skills, and proficient computer skills 

·       Has demonstrated capacity to engage and manage complex presentations

·       Demonstrated initiative, has the capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team

·      A current Driver Licence 

·      Ability to support kids and families outside school hours (e.g. after 4pm on weekdays and Saturdays)
