Intake Co-ordinator & Assistant to Director – Neo Psychology

Part-time – typically 4 hours but up to 8 hours per week

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Neo Psychology team. Neo is a progressive private psychology practice based in Hawthorn East. This position is available to work with a highly trained and motivated team of clinical and other psychologists. Neo provides consulting services to a wide range of client groups, offering clinical assessment, individual, couple, parent and family therapy in addition to innovative programs. Our services are in high demand and we consult to all age groups but with a focus on working with children, adolescents, young adults, parents and families. Our Psychologists are highly qualified and skilled and provide flexible approaches to address issues spanning diagnosable clinical disorders through to relationship, family, work and school-based problems.

The primary tasks of this role will be responding to referrals to the practice and managing a waiting list. Some general administrative duties are required from time to time. As Assistant to the Director, this is a rare opportunity to support and learn about the inner workings of private practice and assist an experienced, high profile psychologist in a broad range of consulting roles. This role incorporates (as needed) supervision from the Director, Dr Simon Crisp Clinical Psychologist who has 30 years professional experience. The successful candidate will enjoy the time flexibility and independence of this position as well as opportunity to be the crucial client/professional interface of a busy and dynamic team of highly trained and experienced psychologists.

We are seeking a professional and independent 4th year Psychology student, ideally with experience in a service industry (e.g. hospitality, retail) who can provide the role off-site, at home. Familiarity with mental health services generally, or services for children & adolescents and parents and families is desirable but not necessary. Highly developed communication and organisational skills are essential. The successful candidate will receive orientation training, opportunities to attend team meetings and in-house professional development activities.

Minimum qualifications:  enrolment in, or completion of an accredited 4th year of study in Psychology (Honours or PostGradDipPsych).

Hours highly flexible but are expected to be between 9.00am-5.30pm Monday to Fridays. This position suits a person enrolled in full or part-time study or similar time commitment.
