KEY DUTIES

• Provision of evidence based therapeutic input for individuals, families and groups
• Provision of discrete therapeutic services, such as relaxation skills, distress tolerance skills etc
• Maintain records of all interactions to a professional standard
• Enforce and follow up cancellation/ rescheduling fees
• Maintain & build relationships with various stakeholders, including GPs, psychiatrists and other allied health practitioners
• Write letters for various stakeholders, including GPs, psychiatrists and other allied health practitioners
• Administer comprehensive psychological assessments upon referrals, including administer of psychometric tests, review of relevant client case history

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Full registration with the Psychology Board or Australian Association of Social Workers & eligibility for medicare rebates
• Interest in working with people experiencing body image, eating and exercise issues
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use or acquire expertise in the use of electronic records systems and databases (training will be provided)
• Familiarity with issues comorbid with eating disorders, such as depression, anxiety, personality issues & complex’s trauma

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in a private practice setting 
• Demonstrated experience in building relationships with stakeholders
• Familiarity with a health based paradigm- and willingness to operate within this framework
