About the role

Peninsula Village is seeking a Registered Nurse for Night Shift to join our aged care team. This is a part-time position based at our Umina Beach facility in New South Wales. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our resident population during night hours. Your clinical expertise and dedication to aged care nursing will be instrumental in ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and comfort of our residents whilst supporting our broader healthcare objectives.

Key responsibilities

Providing direct clinical care to aged care residents during night shift hours, including assessment, monitoring and treatment

Administering medications and managing residents' healthcare needs in accordance with clinical protocols and care plans

Monitoring residents' vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the clinical team

Maintaining comprehensive and accurate patient records and documentation

Responding promptly to resident requests and addressing any health-related concerns during night hours

Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

Supporting residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing in the aged care environment

Ensuring compliance with aged care standards, infection control procedures and health and safety regulations

Communicating effectively with day staff to ensure seamless handover of information and care continuity

What we're looking for

Current registration with the AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

Demonstrated experience working in aged care or healthcare settings

Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in nursing practice, patient assessment and care delivery

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families and staff

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously during night shifts

Sound knowledge of medication management and clinical documentation requirements

Commitment to maintaining high standards of aged care and resident dignity

Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work shift-based hours including nights

Current immunisations and satisfactory background checks as required by aged care standards

Preferred: Experience in residential aged care facilities or community nursing
