Job Description

Galway Medical Centre is an Nationally Accredited - Family Practice looking for an energetic RN who has worked in general practice to join our dedicated team of 4 doctors & 3 nurses. You are required to provide quality care to a diverse mix of patients and care for people throughout their lifespan, from babies through to our senior patients. We require someone for 3 days per week. No weekend or after-hours work required. Starting off as casual with a view to permanent part-time after the initial probation period.

We are seeking

Chronic disease management including Diabetes Care, Care Plans, 75+ and ATSI Health Assessments

Preventative Care – Heart Health Checks, Diabetes Screening, 45 – 49 Year Health Checks

Childhood Immunisation & vaccinations / Ordering

ECG's & ABI

Wound care/dressings

Ear syringe

Triage

Dry ice application/cryotherapy

Assist doctors with minor surgical procedures

Daily co-ordination of the treatment room stock control/ordering, medical equipment maintenance

Implementing and practicing infection control

Patient education

Recall and organising patient appointments for GPMP, 75 HA, ATSI

High level of involvement in Quality Improvement Programs

Essential Criteria

Current AHPRA unrestricted registration

Completed - Understanding Vaccines and The National Immunisation Program

Must hold NTIPS (National Training in Paediatric Immunisation and Scheduling) certification for immunisation training

Ability to work in Australia

Current CPR certification

COVID vaccine mandatory as per SA Health

Minimum of two years working in an Accredited General Practice nursing

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

Demonstrated solid IT skills ability to be able to effectively manage patient appointments, records, recalls and reminders within practice software

Caring & collaborative approach to patient care

Proven multi-tasking problem solving & time management skills

Commitment to lifelong learning

Medicare Director is the patient management system used within the practice.
