Next in Health is pleased to have exclusively partnered with North Richmond Community Health for the appointments of Registered Nurses on a full time basis within their medically supervised injecting room.

North Richmond Community Health began supporting the Richmond community on Wurundjeri land in 1974. North Richmond Community Health, medical and social services are specially designed to provide the best support for individuals and families all over Melbourne and Victoria.

 As the Registered Nurse, you will be required to have:

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Bachelor degree in Nursing ( Div 1 )
  • Previous experience working within Community Health, syringe programs, drug and alcohol services, crisis services, Emergency Department 
  • Cleared Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, Harm Reduction and Social Justice
  • Cleared National Police Check

  
  
 Some of the day to day duties you will be doing:

  • Observe and monitor client’s wellbeing throughout their visit to MSIR, acting on client alerts and behavioural contracts as indicated.
  • Provide client education around vein care, drug use, harm reduction strategies.
  • Engage with clients to identify health needs and refer to local health and welfare services
  • Record all client observations and/or interactions on the relevant MSIR forms, clinical database and medical record.
  • In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care.
  • Provide needle syringe (NS) equipment.
  • Participate in needle/syringe retrievals and monitor the area around NRCH as required
  • Provide outreach support and respond to overdoses in the surrounding area as directed
