An exciting full-time opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Psychologist to join The Centre for Positive Behaviour Support (CPBS). This senior position will give the suitable applicant a $10,000 Sign On Bonus and the opportunity to further develop their professional and leadership skills by providing direct support and supervision to Provisional Psychologists undertaking their provisional psychology internship through CPBS.

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Principal Psychologist, the Senior Psychologist/ AHPRA Supervisor will provide assessment, treatment and clinical supervision services as part of CPBS’ mission to educate and support people to implement non-aversive behaviour support strategies. This role will provide direct support and supervision to Provisional Psychologists undertaking their provisional psychology internship through CPBS. The Psychology Service will have a specific focus towards supporting individuals with neuro-developmental disorders, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities seeking psychology services through the NDIS.

Core Responsibilities:

Provide both clinical assessment, treatment and supervision, engaging with children, adolescents, individuals and families accessing CPBS for emotional, mental or behavioural concerns
Facilitate initial assessment and treatment/intervention services using a variety of therapeutic approaches
Provide specific primary supervision to Provisional Psychologists engaging in a provisional psychology internship at CPBS in order the meet their placement requirements
Provide day to day supervision and support to Provisional Psychologists
Provide clinical supervision, advice and peer support to other Psychologists as required
Engage in clinical practice with clients referred to the Psychology Service including:

Select and administer appropriate psychological assessments including structured observation, clinical interviews, psychometric assessments, and interpret and integrate this data

Formulate psychological treatment plans that are specific to each client based on an analysis of complex factors contributing to the presentation, and selectively drawing on appropriate conceptual and theoretical models, and present in written format

Monitor each individual client to ensure clients are followed up should they not return to therapy (duty of care)

Administer appropriate risk management plans as required

Maintain accurate case notes and files using an electronic clinical record and according to Practice protocols and professional standards

Prepare letters and reports to referrers, insurers and other third parties with information about assessment, diagnosis, treatment and recommendations, in line with mandatory reporting requirements

Co-facilitate group therapy as needed

Essential:

Registration as Psychology Board-Approved Supervisor (PsychBA)
Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA minimum 6 years
Experience in the provision of clinical supervision
Registration with Medicare
Experience with assessment and the delivery of both individual and group interventions
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in counselling practice and methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated with a wide range of individuals, organisations and consumers
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively develop and maintain positive relationships, networks and therapeutic relationships
Valid driver's licence
Ability to attain all mandatory compliance checks including the NDIS Workers Screening Check, National Criminal History Check and any relevant State-issued WWCC/WWVP cards
COVID19 Vaccination Digital Certificate, inclusive of mandated booster vaccinations as directed by State Government and NDIS mandates

Desirable:

Adaptability and ability to respond positively to manage change
Sound operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email and web based applications.
