A rare and exciting experience has arisen for a full time, split appointment with 0.5 FTE in Respiratory Medicine and 0.5 FTE in General Medicine in the diverse Northern Territory. Our client seeks a Physician to conduct Respiratory Clinics, Respiratory Consultations, visit remote Aboriginal communities for outreach clinics and perform bronchoscopies as well as reporting on lung function tests. The General Medical component will require participating in the General Medical roster on a regular basis. The job also requires supervising/teaching Advanced Trainees, RMO's and medical students. The variation and diversity in workload will ensure a busy and exciting time in the Northern Territory.
The public hospital is a 345 bed tertiary facility which is designated as the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre and a teaching hospital affiliated with Flinders University. The catchment area is vast, and includes urban communities, regional hospitals and remote Aboriginal communities. The hospital services a population of at least 150,000 with patients also being transferred from northern Western Australia and Timor. The hospital has a modern, fully equipped 9 bed coronary care unit which also has facilities for non-invasive respiratory support, allowing you to work with top of the range equipment in your practice.
The Department of Respiratory Medicine is a team of enthusiastic and committed Respiratory Physicians/Nurses and is supported by Medical and Surgical sub-specialties and the Intensive Care Unit.

To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACP or be close to completing your fellowship and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
