The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assess and diagnose clients with a range of communication disorders, including developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays, Social Emotional challenges and Learning difficulties
  • Treat and manage a caseload effectively and ethically.
  • Work in the clinic and may outsource to schools/preschools
  • Review clients as necessary based on individual needs.
  • Write reports in relation to assessments and Medicare requirements.
  • Adopt a multidisciplinary approach in treating clients by working with teachers, psychologists and other health care professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients and their families.
  • Participate in team meetings as required and be willing to be part of a team.

Desirable Experience:

  • Skills and experience in the assessment and management of common presenting issues
  • Minimum of 2–3-year experience with a diverse range of clients preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with preschool and school age children.
  • Knowledge and experience in the support of children on the Autism Spectrum and other developmental delays.

Prerequisites include:

  • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia and eligibility for enrolment in the SPA self-regulation program.
  • A current drivers license.
  • Current Working with Children Check. 
  • Must have own Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance
  • Proficient communication, organisational and computer skills.
  • Caring interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to responsibilities of this significant role.

You will be working as part of a small, dedicated team with the opportunity to work with and be supported by a speech pathologist with almost 20 years clinical experience managing a paediatric caseload.
