Role Description This is an on-site contract role for a Speech Pathologist based in Nedlands, WA. The Speech Pathologist will assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication needs in children with complex presentations, using standardized tools and clinical observation. Daily responsibilities include developing individualized therapy plans, delivering one-on-one and small-group interventions, and monitoring and documenting progress. The role involves collaborating with families, caregivers, educators, and other clinicians to support carryover of skills across home, school, and community settings. The Speech Pathologist will also contribute to case conferences, maintain accurate clinical records, and participate in service development activities as required.

Qualifications

 

  • Recognized degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership/registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing and treating pediatric clients, ideally including children with complex or multifaceted presentations.
  • Strong skills in clinical reasoning, treatment planning, and evidence-based intervention for speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • High standard of professional documentation, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally responsive practice.
  • Willingness to engage in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.
  • Current working with children/vulnerable persons clearance and any other required local checks or registrations.
