We are seeking an experienced senior paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service for a part time, ongoing positon in a multidisciplinary team. As a grade 3 Speech Pathologist you will be responsible to provide evidence-based, best practice assessment and interventions for communication and swallowing disorders in inpatients and outpatients that require rehabilitation. The position will provide supervision of speech pathologists within the rehabilitation team and provide clinical expertise, advocacy and guidance across the multidisciplinary team.
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a state-wide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents recovering from major injury, illness and elective procedures aimed at functional maximisation. The VPRS at The Royal Children’s Hospital has 9 rehabilitation beds located in the main hospital, and a large community based service. The case load is varied but will include Acquired Brain Injury, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Experience in the provision of speech pathology services to children with communication and swallowing disorders
