The position

To provide high quality and valuable services to NDIS participants to meet their goals, in order to achieve greater independence and improve functional capacity. You will focus on building capacity, through setting goals, working on progress of goals and reporting at certain intervals, including monitoring success through outcome measures.

As the Speech Pathologist, you will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team, comprised of other Speech Pathologists and Allied Health professionals, as well as support workers.

DLS Allied Health provide therapy and disability support work services to participants of the NDIS, alongside private services to other organisations and individuals. We set a high standard of ethics, ensuring our participants have full choice and control over their services. We also pride our work on high levels of communication, including allowing set timelines to respond to calls, emails, feedback and complaints.


Responsibilities and duties:

Responsibility 1 – SP Team Participation

Work standard: As part of the position, you will be expected to work within our multidisciplinary team, with other speech pathologists and allied health professionals. This will include being provided supervision and ongoing training, alongside day-to-day duties (see Responsibility 2). You will be required to attend general staff meetings, and case conferences.

Responsibility 2 – SP Services

Work standard: As part of this position, you will work directly with NDIS participants, their family members, carers, support staff and other people involved in the participants care and capacity building. This includes being part of ‘care teams’ where all participant supports meet to discuss how to help the participant reach their goals. DLS Allied Health Pty Ltd - Position description | Page 2 of 4 The role includes completing assessments, progress reports, ongoing case notes but also providing face-to-face therapy/clinical intervention with participants, based on their needs and NDIS funding. This includes working with Support Coordinators/Local Area Coordinators when participants are due to renew their NDIS funding.


Qualifications, experience, and traits.

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor’s degrees in speech pathology (or higher qualification).

• SPA registration.

Work experience and skills

• 0-10 years’ experience working as an SPA is desired.

Personal qualities and traits

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to provide non-face-to-face assistance where required.

• Attention to detail.

• Team based approach.


Details of relationships relevant to this role

• This position will report directly to the Clinical Lead.

• The position will be working under general guidance of Senior Speech Pathologists and other Senior AHPs.
