A major medical hub in Sydney’s northern suburbs, this hospital serves the community with 488 beds for public and private patients. As a contemporary facility integrating 60% public and 40% private services, it offers a diverse and state-of-the-art professional environment. The organization is currently searching for a motivated and passionate Theatre Administration Officer to join its high-pressure perioperative department. This Part-Time role provides a stable yet dynamic schedule of 35 hours per week, with shifts falling between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm across a five-day work week, ensuring vital coverage and support for doctors and nursing staff.

The Role and Requirements

The Theatre Administrator acts as a primary point of contact within the surgical suite, managing both the front-facing customer service and the critical behind-the-scenes data integrity. Key responsibilities and essential criteria include:

  • Clinical Administration: Maintaining accurate and timely patient data collection, processing medical records, and managing electronic health files with a strict commitment to privacy and confidentiality.

  • Customer Excellence: Greeting all visitors and handling enquiries with a professional, friendly manner that prioritizes the patient experience.

  • Operational Support: Liaising with various hospital departments and undertaking general administrative duties to ensure smooth theatre operations.

  • Experience & Skills: Applicants must have prior experience in an acute, patient-focused healthcare facility. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential for success in this multidisciplinary environment.

  • Professional Attributes: A proven ability to work autonomously, excellent report-writing skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality service under pressure.

Lifestyle and Employee Benefits

This role is ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding healthcare career without sacrificing work-life balance. Located in a thoughtfully designed facility that optimizes staff and patient safety, the position offers a variety of lifestyle perks, including:

  • Financial & Health Benefits: Access to Salary Packaging via novated leases, Bulk Billing services for employees and their immediate families, and discounted private health options.

  • Wellness & Convenience: Eligibility for the Fitness Passport program, discounted gym memberships, and an Employee Assistance Program. The site features discounted onsite parking and is located just steps away from major public transport links.

  • Modern Environment: Work within a state-of-the-art complex featuring 13 operating theatres, hybrid labs, and a comprehensive critical care unit.

Application Process

To be considered for this position, applicants must be prepared to provide a National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months) and a valid NSW Working with Children Check. As this is a patient-contact environment, proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases is required prior to commencement.
