We are currently seeking experienced Scrub Scouts Nurses to join the Perioperative Team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.
As a Perioperative Scrub Scout Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
- Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
- Led successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Act as a role model for Safe Practice
About the Company
The hospital has a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility located at Rankin Park. It has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
They also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. The Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ RN experience in Scrub Scout / Perioperative Nursing
- Authority to Work in Australia (Current)
- Valid NSW Working with Children check
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
Desirable Criteria
Obtained Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
