Doctors’ groups lobby for yet another extension to MBS telehealth changes
- The Australian Medical Association (AMA) calls on the government for the extension of telehealth rules beyond their expiry date of June 30, 2022.
- AMA asks that the existing arrangements will continue until December 31 of the same year.
- The former Coalition government made a plan to shorten MBS items for the sector’s telehealth.
- Some of the MBS items need to cut include non-GP specialist items and long phone consultations from July 1.
