The aim of this unit is to enhance understanding of the principles of adult learning and to apply these to the variable context in which medical educators teach.

Relevance to General Practice

Providing adequate training to general practitioners who would like to become medical educators is essential. Medical educators are looked to as a wealth of information and it is crucial they have the skills to pass on this knowledge and influence those around them to become quality general practitioners as this will benefit the practice, community and nation as a whole.
