  • : Online

Interactive online e-learning module that examines the procedure for assessing the seriously ill patient and identifying and treating immediately life-threatening problems to the airway, breathing and circulation.

Relevance to General Practice

The management of the seriously ill or injured patient in the first few minutes may significantly determine chances of survival, risk for complications and long term disability. In seriously ill patients GPs are frequently required to commence management of the patient before they have a diagnosis or the opportunity to complete a thorough clinical assessment. This course will identify the process for the immediate assessment and intervention in the seriously ill adult or child and then focus on immediately life threatening problems affecting the airway, breathing and circulation
