103545 - Gallbladder in a day

  • : Online

This one day intensive course has been designed specifically to provide you with the skills and knowledge to gain confidence and accuracy in your scanning. Suitable for beginners and advanced POCUS users, this course is oversee by leading consultant emergency physicians.

Relevance to General Practice

Rural and remote GP’s perform the function of emergency physicians in their unique locales. With ultrasound equipment becoming increasingly more affordable and readily available in resource poor environments, it has never been more important to ensure that GP's have access to clinically relevant, high quality, practical training.

Various medical organisations and professional bodies already include ultrasound training for GP’s in their curricula and policies. In particular the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) states in its policy document that: “The Use of Bedside Ultrasound by Emergency Physicians” that “ultrasound examination, interpretation and clinical correlation should be available in a timely manner 24 hours a day for emergency department patients”.
