116717 - How to Treat quiz: Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology

  • : Online
Relevance to General Practice

Puberty and the transition to adulthood is an important time in the life of a young woman. Significant physical, emotional and social changes will be occurring. Luckily most adolescents will go through this process without too much concern. However, those who present with potential issues require a thoughtful and age-appropriate assessment. Much of the initial investigation and management can be undertaken by GPs, but when specialist opinion is required, timely referral to a paediatric and adolescent gynaecologist or paediatric endocrinologist is recommended.
