  • : Online

This event is designed to provide the most up-to-date information, latest research, and practical information regarding Countering Contraceptive Controversies in the Media. This is a webcast of one lecture from a day conference to make the material available to rural GPs.

Relevance to General Practice

Contraceptive ‘scares’ are not new but in the age of the 24-hour-news cycle and extensive social media the frequency and reach of such scares appears to be increasing. This presentation examines a number of these recent scares and will develop an evidence-based approach for GPs for the reporting of adverse events attributed to contraceptive use for their patients.

Learning outcomes
  • Develop an evidence-based approach for the reporting of adverse events attributed to contraceptive use for their patients.
  • Enhancing their understanding on contraception and the possible adverse effects.
  • Help them to identify strategies for managing and reducing risk, and improving patient safety.
