The medical management of snakebite in Australia has evolved in recent years and there is no longer universal agreement about approaches to treatment, especially antivenom (AV) use and dosing. Some of the readily accessed literature is contradictory and can lead to confusion about how to manage cases and may contribute to suboptimal outcomes for patients.
