149247 - Registrar Series - ENT

  • : Online

Benefit from the knowledge and experience of ENT surgeon Dr Chady Sader who consults at Western ENT and SCGH. This workshop will describe the identification and management of a range of acute and chronic ENT conditions.

The RACGP present a comprehensive information evening - this workshop has been designed to improve patient outcomes by enhancing the ability of the practitioner to accurately diagnose, appropriately treat, and identify when to refer.

Relevance to General Practice

Ear, nose and throat problems, especially in children, account for a high percentage of clinical presentations seen by GPs. The management of chronic and recurrent conditions can prove challenging, as can identifying when an ENT presentation constitutes an emergency.

  • Identify how to manage and refer tonsillitis appropriately
  • Recognise and manage common paediatric ear conditions, otitis media and a perforated ear drum
  • Create a simple algorithm for the management of ARS, CRS and nasal polyps
  • Describe how to recognise OSA in children and adults and be able to investigate and refer appropriately if indicated
  • Discuss the investigation of lesions of the head and neck, salivary glands and thyroid
