151158 - 2019 One Day Supervisor Workshop

  • : Online

This one day interactive workshop is designed to facilitate GP Supervisors to increase and consolidate their knowledge and skills in their GP registrar supervisors and mentors. It builds on the three previous workshops (2016 - 2018), revisiting and adding to some of the skills covered previously (clinical reasoning; cognitive autopsy; learning environments; learning plans) and introducing a new topic (managing a learner adverse event). The workshop will run 10 times during 2019 at locations throughout the JCU GP Training region. Supervisors from anywhere within the JCU training region can attend any one of the workshops.

Relevance to General Practice

Skilled and committed GP Supervisors are the cornerstone of a successful GP training program. Accredited supervisors undertake to continuously review and improve their supervisory skills. This workshop comprises one of the JCU facilitated educational events that supervisors can participate in to develop and maintain their skills.
