The aims to provide the general practitioner with a an introduction to the treatment of patients requesting information regarding facial aging and the knowledge and ability to provide the service of Light to Medium Depth Chemical Peels for the treatment and reversal of photo aged skin. 

We will also equip the general practitioner with information regarding the use of Botox injections to temporarily treat facial functional rhytids (wrinkles). 

The use of Botox in the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis (sweating) will also be covered in this seminar. 

We will be learning the technical skills of dermal fillers to treat the following indications: 

The use of lasers for dermatology will be covered including basic physics and Lasers safety (patient safety). 

Basic sclerotherapy with demonstrations will also be covered including treatment regimes, potential complications and management. 
 

Learning outcomes
  • Outline recommendations to a patient with regards to management of sun damaged skin (patient safety)
  • Describe the advantages and disadvantage of a glycolic acid peel, potential complications and treatment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the mechanism of action of a Botulinum Toxin injection, possible complications of Botulinum Toxin injection and how you can manage
  • Demonstrate knowledge of indications and contraindications to non permanent dermal fillers, potential complications and management.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge how to perform sclerotherapy, potential complications and how to treat them.
