Relevance to General Practice

This RODP program will support RFDS Qld clinicians in the rehearsal and practice of knowledge in interpreting vital signs and other observations as part of a systematic physical assessment in order to identify physiological deterioration, as well as appropriate clinical management skills. Skills in communication and effective team work are needed to provide appropriate care to a patient whose condition is deteriorating.

Learning outcomes
  • Recognise and manage the deteriorating patient
  • Confidently provide Advanced Life Support to Neonatal, Paediatric, Maternity and Adult patients.
  • Confidently apply essential skills in Crisis resource management principles in acute clinical care settings.
  • Review and update workplace health and safety and infection control procedures/policies.
