Relevance to General Practice

It has taken some time for Geriatric Medicine to be acknowledged as a complex subspecialty, with significant differences from general adult medicine. Particularly important is are the findings associated with aging and the complex co-morbidities. Similarly, geriatric radiology has become an emerging subspecialty with unique challenges. As the general population ages, general practitioners in both medicine and radiology need to acquire a skill set to deal with their aging patients.
