158228 - Rheumatology in Primary Care 2019

  • : Online

To continue to improve the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of primary care management of common rheumatological conditions in South East Queensland.

Relevance to General Practice

In Australia, nearly 4 million people have arthritis, the most common cause of disability after back pain. Of people with profound disability, diseases of the musculoskeletal and soft tissue systems affect the largest group (20.3%). At 17.1% GP encounters in 2015-16, at least one musculoskeletal problem was managed, extrapolating to 24.4 million such encounters nationally. Rheumatology issues are common and important for patients, GPs and society.
