185811 - Webinar 11: Using eMH to Manage Complexity: Anxiety and Bipolar Disorder

  • : Online

The webinar series examines some of the online mental health treatment programs that GPs need to know about, focusing on evidence-based programs that have been developed in Australia. The evidence around the efficacy and usefulness of different programs will be discussed along with practical aspects of using the programs . In this Clinical Case Study webinar, we will begin with a very brief review of what constitutes e-Mental Health (eMH). A case study will be presented, including a video of a consultation with a patient. The GP expert panel will then lead a discussion about the key issues in the case, the eMH resources that could be usefully integrated into the patient's care and some of the practical aspects of integrating eMH resources into care.

Relevance to General Practice

After conducting 3 focus groups, and an extensive GP survey, on the subject of e-mental health programs, it is clear that there is a lack of knowledge about the subject of e-mental health in general practice. In particular, which programs are available, which patients are suitable for e-mental health programs, and how to integrate these programs into the treatment of patients with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. The most popular way in which GPs requested training on the subject, was via webinars.
