This education aims to assist GPs in identifying the side effects of the immune checkpoint inhibitors, a class being increasing used to treat a range of conditions.

Relevance to General Practice

Because of the mechanism of action of immune checkpoint inhibitors, immune related adverse events (irAEs) occur in a proportion of patients. Early detection, investigation and management of these events will benefit patients both in terms of early amelioration of symptoms and allowing for continuation of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
