84984 - Paediatric Fever

  • : Online
Relevance to General Practice

Paediatrics is recognised by the RACGP as an essential part of general practice. Children constitute 13% of GP visits patients seen by a GP (Bayram et al 2015). Given such a large volume of patients that present to practice are adolescents and young people, it is imperative GPs are competent to address a broad range of paediatric conditions.
In order to best practice paediatric medicine, good interpersonal, listening and communication skills are paramount as GPs not only manage the young patient but need to also successfully address family concerns as well.
