Relevance to General Practice

It is widely recognized General Practitioners, particularly those in peripheral, rural and remote locations will be called upon to manage trauma in its early phase – the very situation for which this course has been created. For this reason, a proportion of places are quarantined for General Practitioners and trainees (14% of participants in 2016) with General Practitioners also participating as course instructors, directors and committee members.

General Practitioners and trainees are regular participants on EMST courses, rating it extremely highly. General Practitioners are also involved in all levels of course management within RACS thereby ensuring the learning needs of General Practitioners and trainees are met by this course.
